Nice diagram. If you are describing an &quot;as is&quot; state for a Research and Design cycle, then there are a few things missing. Notably, there is &quot;Adoption&quot; (or lack thereof) after implementation of the design. 
If you are describing a &quot;should be&quot; state for the Research and Design cycle (geared at maximizing implementation and/or adoption rates, for instance), then there are many things missing. I&#039;ll be happy to discuss, but am not sure what your intent is with the diagram.

You&#039;re right that theory does not translate directly to design, and needs to be interpreted. but its a differnt kind of interpretation, and Idealy I would have a different word for it. Maybe projection?</description>

I think that there could be another &#039;Interpretation&#039; between &#039;Theory&#039; and &#039;Design&#039;. A  different interpretive skill to that for the &#039;Interpretation&#039; between &#039;Evidence&#039; and &#039;Analysis&#039; but some form of interpretation (and perhaps selection and filtering) is required.
